Matchbox > Adventure Pack Avon
At the very end of 1998, three exclusive 2-packs were released as a special edition for the AVON retail chain in the USA. Their concept follows the Adventure Pack series, featuring two vehicles along with various accessories as added value.
Each set includes one standard model, previously released in the Adventure/Action System series, and one unique model from another popular Matchbox line – Light & Sound. This special model features lights and sound effects.
The Fire set includes a Mercedes-Benz 280 GE, the Hang Glider set features a Ford Supervan II, and the final Safari set once again contains the Mercedes-Benz 280 GE.
Despite the exciting content, the packaging itself is not very appealing for retail – a plain white box with a drawing, offering no visibility of the vehicles inside.
